Sorry for not posting this sooner. I am just a little over 1 week in and when I got weighed on Wednesday I was down a little over 1/2 a pound.
At first glance you may think whoopie dooo, but remember I haven't changed my eating habits yet. I know these aren't scientific results but it is a result just the same. This week I am taking 5 PGX with each meal, (where last week I was just using a start up dose.) I guess we will see if that makes a difference as well. I noticed that when I first increased my dosage that I didn't really increase my water consumption enough. Now that I am more aware of the need to do this I think things will be fine.
Slow weight loss is what is recommended by doctors so if I lose about a pound a week, that would be amazing considering I haven't changed my food choices and it would be a healthy pace to lose weight hopefully increasing my chances of keeping it off.
I really want this to work or at least to be able to give me a decent start to becoming a healthier weight. I also want to emphasize that just because you feel full eating less food, that doesn't mean you can further change your eating habits to only eat junk. Because I am eating less, I am mentally trying to make sure I am getting a variety of food groups at each meal. I need to make each meal count because it is more difficult to get all your recommended vitamins and mineral the less you eat, and that is something to seriously think about before starting PGX.
I haven't read to many other personal experiences out there. If you have tried PGX please let me know your results, and if you haven't but you have questions don't hesitate to ask. I'm new at this too, but its always good to know that someone else was where you are now!

so far so good!
Well, I can honestly say I haven't felt hungry. I have still occasionally snacked on a doughnut or on some chips, but my main meals have been a much smaller portion. I haven't "dieted" and I don't exclude food choices. I am hoping that portion control will be a major factor and if I am able to achieve decent results I may incorporate some sort of eating plan as well.
You know I never imagined I would be sharing this kind of info with complete strangers, but I am just writing what I would want to know. and at the moment most of the sites aren't user reviews but more like marketing stuff.
I have had some gas, but nothing uncomfortable (unless smelly is uncomfortable) and initially my bowel habits slowed, but once things got up to speed (so to speak), my bowel habits are starting to become more regular although a softer consistancy. (If you want more details for some strange reason, leave a comment and I will answer your questions to the best of my ability.)
I have been taking 4 capsules with each meal, they recommend between 3-6. I think I will give 5 a try today and see how that feels. I will get weighed again on Wednesday "officially" but I have been weighing myself and have been up and down. I think it may take a couple of weeks for my body to get used to all this new fibre and stuff and won't try to draw a conclusion until I have done a full month.

Breakfast of Champions???
I took my 2 PGX and a glass of water and had an instant oatmeal and a coffee for breakfast.
It's a GAS!!!
To be honest I haven't had any noticeable side effects, I did have a bit of gas last night...but I can't eliminate the possibility that it wasn't from my lunch. Sometimes Chinese food will do that to me. And at risk of being completely rude I kinda like "creating a stink" while watching TV with my hubby, it reminds him that I am capable of launching the attack just as easily as finding myself caught in the cross fire.

Supper??? NO thanks I am full.
I know its not a good idea to skip meals but I honestly am still full from lunch.
(Lunch was with my parents and I didn't want to let on to my dad that I was dieting, he usually has a sarcastic remark about it and I didn't feel like listening to it today, and since he was paying I had to make sure I "got my money's worth" at lunch so I definitely ate more than I wanted (food and family issues...gotta love um') an that is probably why I still feel really full now!
For lunch I ate 6 pieces of sushi and 5 fairly large mussels, a bowl of won ton soup (I could have stopped there and felt content, but my dad would have grumbled) so I went back up and got 4 deep fried shrimp about 1/4 cup of rice (if that) 2 spring rolls and 2 chicken wings... I let that settle for a while as my dad continued to fill plate after plate, he asked if I was going to have dessert. I didn't want to disappoint so I had a 1/4 of a Belgian type waffle with strawberries and cream on it.
This probably explains more about my relationship with food than I care to admit.
On one hand I do want to eat what's good for me, I do want to stop when I am full.
On the other hand, I have been taught not to waste food, that buffets are good because you can keep eating and eating and eating and therefore get "value" for your money, I have been told to eat up your meat, you can get bread any time...and many other things that tie food into being valuable and getting what something is worth and therefore me being valuable as a person and being worth something if I eat a lot of food.
I am sure this isn't the message my parents intended for me. I understand that my dad's opinions in particular, come from a place inside of him that he feels was deemed as valuable as a child.
Back to what I was talking about the PGX!
Well when hubby came home, I wasn't really hungry and of course he was starving, He couldn't put his finger on exactly what he felt like eating, and the kids were fainting from hunger....OK so they weren't but they can be pretty dramatic when they are hungry though. We decided to go out to eat.
I orderd a small spinach salad and I didn't take any PGX because I still felt full from lunch. I was able to finish it, and it was good. It certainly was enough to eat though.
To recap.
Day1
2 PGX @ bkfst
2 PGX @ lunch

LUNCH!!!
I skipped the banana at bkfst, I didn't feel like I needed it so I thought what the heck. Its about 1:00 and time for lunch and although I could eat, I don't feel terribly hungry and therefore I don't feel deprived. I am still going to try to eat healthily but I have been invited out to a buffet for my lunch and don't really want to let on what is going on. I will try to just have what I normally would have but maybe not as much.
PGX and Me
Today I am about to embark on the PGX journey. I will try and write my honest impressions as well as post my truthful achievements.
I haven't tried every diet out there, nor do I claim that nothing works for me. I do however find it very hard to stick to a "DIET" so I thought I would give PGX a try.
PGX is a dietary supplement, it is very low calorie, naturally low carb, and is an excellent source of fibre. The best I can tell, since I am not a scientist, is that this fibre "swells" in your stomach causing you to feel full longer and slows down digestion so you feel more satisfied. It is important you drink water with your supplement to assist this fibre to expand to create a lesser appetite, allowing you to feel satiated with less food.
I am going to start with 2 supplements at each meal and I will report any unpleasant side effects at that dose. The recommended dose is between 3-6 capsules at each meal, but it is better to work up to those amounts rather than jumping in at the higher dose.
Some side effects may be "gas" "bloating" "loose stools" or "constipation".
If you take medication it is important to discuss this product with your Doctor because it may affect the absorption of the medication.
Thanks for reading this....now here I go
9:25 first dose of PGX 2 capsules and 8oz of water and 1pk of instant oatmeal and a banana for breakfast
